The founder of The Honest Electrician, Matthew Spector, has worked as an electrician for over 10 years and carries a master electrical license. His expertise is in residential homes, where he specializes in troubleshooting, repairing, lighting layouts and smart home capabilities.
Our company’s priority in any home is safety and code compliance. We will inform you of faulty electrical wiring and devices, and ways to maintain the electrical system in order to help prevent large bills. Your home is a major investment, and we will partner with you to protect it and increase its value.

We charge by the task, rather than an hourly rate. For example, if you want a light fixture changed, there is a flat rate fee. That way if you get a slow technician you aren’t penalized, and if you get a fast technician, he isn’t penalized. Everyone wins!

Most small fixes will not require a permit, while most larger projects such as new circuits and electrical panel changes will likely require permits. We will inform you of any permit requirements and associated costs.
